Fixing the Healthcare People Problem

Fixing the Healthcare People Problem is proudly presented to you by National Association for Home Care & Hospice. Thank you. We hope that you enjoy your course.

Description:

The United States healthcare industry has a people problem. There just are not enough available caregivers to meet the needs of the public. When people are faced with new medical problems, or when they have chronic health issues they turn to the expertise, counsel, and compassion of nurses, aides, doctors, and a whole cadre of other health professionals. From 2010 to 2050, the United States population ages 85 and older is roughly expected to triple from under six million to over 18 million. Without significant reforms and innovation, there will not be enough caregivers to support the needs. In this outline we suggest strategies to counter the workforce crisis and the policies that need to be adopted to make systemic change to fix our people problem.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify The People Problem in Healthcare – A Workforce Crisis.
  • Use Strategies to Counter the Workforce Crisis & Discuss Workforce Creation.
  • Explain the Impact on the Community and Demonstrate Some Ideas for The Fix – "Moving Healthcare Forward” with Policy Levers.
