Addressing the JEDI: Disparities in Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Impact Why and How People Die is proudly presented to you by National Association for Home Care & Hospice. Thank you. We hope that you enjoy your course.
Description:
Social justice statistics show how disproportionately Black, Indigenous, people of color (BIPOC) and LGBTQ+ communities are underserved at the end-of-life. Despite tremendous growth in palliative and hospice care, there is a pressing need to address disparities in end-of-life care. Increased strategizing to improve access to end-of-life care among the historically underserved will close disparity gaps and help care providers embrace a better understanding of how to reduce disparities in the provisions of end-of-life care. This presentation will address key benefits of integrating JEDI into hospice and palliative care.
Learning Objectives:
- Explain disparities in the context of end-of-life care.
- Improve access to end-of-life care among historically under-served populations.
- Identify micro, macro, and mezzo implications, and potential ways to enhance palliative care workers roles inside and out of their work settings.
