In treating a wound care patient, home health nurses have used traditional negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) as an integral part of their practice. Now, there are new disposable NPWT devices that preserve the patients’ quality of life by allowing them to have unrestricted mobility to move freely. This session will address the technology, the types of wound care patient who will benefit from its use and most importantly, the ease of which home health agencies can bill appropriately and accurately for the services.

  •  Explain what is disposable negative pressure wound therapy.
  • Identify which wound care patients will benefit from its use.
  • Describe how to bill for disposable NPWT services.
