Urinary tract infections, commonly known as UTIs, are a serious health problem because they occur frequently. However, they are largely preventable. Older adults are very vulnerable to them. Because you will provide care to individuals at risk for UTIs, you must be able to take the correct actions to prevent UTIs from occurring. In this course, you will learn about the risk factors of UTIs as well as the steps you can take to prevent infections. You will also learn how they are treated and how to recognize the presence of a UTI.
The goal of this course is to teach general staff in all post-acute settings about the prevention and treatment of urinary tract infections.
