Master Billing for Non-routine Levels of Care (Hospice)

Master Billing for Non-routine Levels of Care (Hospice) is proudly presented to you by National Association for Home Care & Hospice. Thank you. We hope that you enjoy your course.

Description:

Hospice billing is much more complex than just billing levels of care to Medicare. Many states require each hospice agency to bill room and board to the state Medicaid plan or Medicaid Managed Care Organization, as well as reimburse the nursing home. This involves a billing process but also an accounts payable process and requires staff needs to understand skilled nursing billing. The hospice revenue cycle team needs to work directly with hospitals to reconcile the inpatient levels of care to be billed and work with the skilled nursing facility to obtain information to bill respite. This session will outline the key areas to ensure success in booking the correct revenue and include tips on how to collect it.

Learning Objectives:

•Review details needed to book revenue to bill your non-routine levels of care
•Identify billing guidelines and tips for effective room and board and inpatient care
•Discuss how to ensure you match what you pay to facilities with what you bill
•Explain how hospitals and skilled nursing facilities are paid; understand the rates to leverage contract negotiations
