Home Health Compliance Risks is proudly presented to you by National Association for Home Care & Hospice. Thank you. We hope that you enjoy your course.
Description:
Home health agencies continue to be at risk from compliance initiatives from multiple program integrity contractors focused on the industry. This scrutiny often takes the form of pre- or post-pay audits by Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs), such as Targeted Probe and Educate (TPE) and Review Choice Demonstration (RCD), or investigations by Unified Program Integrity Contractors (UPICs) that can result in massive penalties computed on extrapolated error rates, suspended payments, or other extreme measures. This session will examine the most common threats from program integrity contractors and offer insights into typical contractor behaviors and practices based on first-hand experiences.
Learning Objectives:
•Outline key details from current results of TPE & RCD initiatives and recent UPIC actions
•Identify strategies for successfully managing claims audits by contractors
•Describe effective compliance risk assessment and mitigation procedures
•Outline key compliance challenges posed by the implementation of the PDGM reimbursement system
•Outline key compliance challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic and by the distribution of Provider Relief Funds and the PPP Loan Program
