With the home health implementation under way, even with the Good Faith Effort Exemption, how healthy is your agency when it comes to preparedness for claims impact? States have to maintain a level of compliance when it comes to CMS certification of their EVV program. This means using EVV data to determine if claims should be paid. Whether your state has already turned on the denials, or if they’re just preparing for it, you have to make sure your agency can survive. Some of the questions to ask yourself: If offered, should you use the state solution? Are your state solution and other admin accounts set up for auditing EVV submissions and billing for compliance issues? If you’re using your own vendor, are they ready and configuring the system correctly? How do you plan to educate field staff to promote buy in? Are you prepared to monitor your claims compliance without the state or payers assistance?
