Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders: The Environment

The physical and social environment for those with Alzheimer’s disease or related disorders influences their quality of life. Creating a dementia-friendly environment helps them stay safe, comfortable, and as independent as possible. This course discusses strategies along with the benefits of a safe and structured environment. It also describes the basic principles of caring for people with Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders.

The goal of this course is to teach direct care workers in post-acute care how to create a suitable environment for those with Alzheimer’s disease.
