805. Navigating Uncertainty in End-of-Life Care is proudly presented to you by National Association for Home Care & Hospice. Thank you. We hope that you enjoy your course.
Description:
Many people buy into the myth that science gives us answers, certainty, and guarantees. But our actual experience in medicine is often the opposite. We don’t talk about uncertainty and the ways in which we might manage it. This presentation will challenge the expectation that medicine offers certainty and provide responses to uncertainty that participants can engage in their own practices. We will also discuss opportunities to live meaningfully in the midst of ubiquitous uncertainty.
Learning Objective 1:
Disrupt expectations that medicine can offer certainty and that knowledge will “cure” our uncertainty.
Learning Objective 2:
Identify actionable responses to the uncertainty.
Learning Objective 3:
Discuss opportunities to live meaningfully despite having to live with uncertainty.
