Description:
The most common hospice payment denial is “documentation does not support eligibility.” Natural language processing technology empowered nurses to create comprehensive nursing notes. The program allows nurses to self-audit notes in real time. It prompts them to include all eligibility information. Nurse admission/recertification notes were reviewed weekly. Outcomes: improved documentation quality, in-home documentation time, work life balance, physician narrative, and reduction in denials by MAC.
