303. Business Analytics Applied to Home Health Cost Report Data: Impact of CMS Cuts and MA Reimbursement on Profit Margins is proudly presented to you by National Association for Home Care & Hospice. Thank you. We hope that you enjoy your course.

Description

This session will present data obtained through cost reports that illustrates the true profit margins of home health agencies in contrast to what is presented by MedPAC and CMS. The analysis includes all operating costs instead of just marginal costs, and all payer revenue instead of just Medicare Part A. This analysis will reveal the true financial crisis the industry is experiencing.

Learning Objective 1:
Identify how cost report data presented by CMS and MedPAC is represented through their reports and proposed rules in a manner that distorts the true financial health of home health agencies.

Learning Objective 2:
Explain true profit margins of all agencies and these agencies broken down by size and other groups that provide insights into the impact of current reimbursement and cuts to base rates.

Learning Objective 3:
Discuss cost reports including the strengths and weaknesses of the data, its accuracy, how it can be improved, and other current regulatory issues that can be explored such as the 80/20 rule.
