901. National Update: Congress, Regulators, Policymakers, and the Marketplace Landscape

901. National Update: Congress, Regulators, Policymakers, and the Marketplace Landscape is proudly presented to you by National Association for Home Care & Hospice. Thank you. We hope that you enjoy your course.

Description:
Health care continues its bewildering spin under the pressures of payment rate cuts, shrinking or non-existent profit margins, workforce shortages, and cost inflation. Meanwhile, care at home has never received more attention than it does now, as an aging population of health care consumers looks to age in place and retain their independence, without sacrificing the highest quality care. However, increasing public attention also brings with it heightened scrutiny from the media, as well as state and national policymakers.

This annual FMC opening general session by NAHC President William A. Dombi is chock full of inside information and analysis you cannot get from anyone else. Bill brings attendees up-to-the-minute information on advocacy priorities, legislative and regulatory updates, and a forecast for upcoming action. The topics this year include Medicare Advantage, the hospice special focus program, and preserving access to home health care in the face of unwise rate cuts. As this is a big election year, Bill will explain what is at stake for the care at home community and how the candidates’ platforms will impact home care and hospice.

Attendees will leave this general session with a clear understanding of the issues facing their organizations and how they can make an impact on policymakers to expand access to quality care at home.

Learning Objectives
• Identify the crucial health care issues pending before Congress and federal regulatory bodies.
• Detail the innovations underway in health care that create opportunities for home care and hospice.
• Discuss NAHC policy priorities, advocacy efforts, and opportunities for grassroots involvement.
