Many hospices are experiencing increasing competition in their service areas, with families and referrers discerning little or no difference among providers. Hospice leaders are looking for ways to distinguish their brand and services from competitors and build preference for their programs. Attendees will see a marketing and operational case study for Northern Illinois Hospice, showing how an effective rebranding and marketing campaign helped increase and sustain 30 percent growth in census despite a continued increase in hospice competitors. The challenges of increasing staff and volunteers to assure quality care to the larger census will be discussed.
