Leverage your telehealth program to make your organization more efficient. It’s time to take action since the current nursing shortage and aging of the baby boomers have put up hurdles for every home health agency. The extent of the problem is apparent in the heavy patient load nurses carry, the number of referrals refused, loss of revenue, high staff turnover, and employee satisfaction surveys that reveal caregiver fatigue. So how do we care for patients with limited resources at our disposal? The answer is using telehealth services to closely monitor patients and working with home health care case managers to make better decisions on the frequency of nursing visits.
