Writer: Amanda Gayle, Ph.D.
Amanda Gayle received her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Tennessee. She completed a pre-doctoral internship at the University of Georgia in the Counseling and Testing Center. She also completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Duke University Medical Center in the Occupational Health Department working in both the internal and external employee assistance programs. She is licensed in North Carolina where she was in private practice for 15 years serving primarily adults in individual and couples counseling with many presenting issues. Her focus was on cognitive behavioral therapy to treat anxiety, mood disorders, grief, relationship difficulties, stress management, self-esteem, and parenting. She joined Relias as a subject matter expert writer for behavioral health in 2021.
Subject Matter Expert: Diana L. Beltran, LCSW
Diana Beltran is a licensed clinical social worker in the states of Arkansas and Texas. She is originally from Little Rock, Arkansas where her experience has been in working in an array of settings but primarily in nonprofit agencies providing services for low-income Hispanic communities. Upon receiving her MSW in 2018, she worked for Centers for Youth and Families in Little Rock, Arkansas providing therapeutic services for Latino families. As she worked at Centers for Youth and Families, she slowly worked on breaking the barriers of the mental health stigma in the Latino culture by engaging in community outreach at local Catholic churches. Moreover, she engaged in conducting mental health assessments for clients going through immigration processes as well. In January 2021, she began working for The Family Place, providing group and individual counseling services for domestic violence survivors. Throughout her experience working at The Family Place, she has been able to educate survivors by conducting Domestic Violence groups and providing a safe and culturally competent space to process their experience with other individuals who have gone through similar incidents. With her experience and knowledge, she became the Clinical Director at Therapy Works Counseling where she oversaw bilingual clinicians in several offices and provided supervision for master-level interns. Diana is now the owner and founder of Happy Autumn Counseling & Supervision, PLLC where she provides counseling services to individuals struggling with anxiety disorders, OCD, and trauma. She conducts immigration evaluations as well as provides supervision for LMSWs seeking full licensure. She has continued to engage in community outreach by being available for interviews with Telemundo, and Estrella T.V., speaking at conferences, and conducting trainings to educate the community. She is dedicated to educating, supporting, and collaborating with those equally as passionate about providing services for the Hispanic community.
