After years of waiting, value-based purchasing (VBP) payment models are finally upon us. CMS is piloting a home health VBP program, and most of its other bundled payment and care initiatives also include a VBP component. But it does not stop with Medicare as many other payers look to VBP payment models to increase quality and reduce costs for their beneficiaries. Now that VBP is here, agency leaders have to prepare their organizations for these emerging payment models.
