Medicare Audits and Appeals: Expanding Chances for Home Health and Hospice to Settle is proudly presented to you by National Association for Home Care & Hospice. Thank you. We hope that you enjoy your course.
The Office of Medicare Hearings and Appeals (OMHA) Settlement Conference Facilitation (SCF) Pilot Program was developed to address the growing number of Medicare appeals pending for administrative law judge (ALJ) hearing. In 2016 OMHA expanded SCF to Part A providers with pending ALJ appeals. SCF is an important opportunity for providers to receive an efficient resolution for their appeals. This Program will outline SCF, including eligibility requirements, considerations to engage in before requesting the settlement facilitation and strategies for the settlement process. In addition, the Program will address high risk audit areas and other efforts to reduce the appeals backlog.
