Beyond Survey Preparedness – into Survey Success is proudly presented to you by National Association for Home Care & Hospice. Thank you. We hope that you enjoy your course.
Under the IMPACT Act, hospices are now being surveyed more frequently – at least every 36 months for a CMS recertification survey. And the results are in. Statistics from 2015 indicate there are more deficiencies per survey than before. Hospices need to be survey-ready at all times since there could be a CMS survey — whether a complaint survey or a validation survey — outside of the routine 36-month schedule. This session will review the different survey deficiencies, what they mean, and the top ten deficiencies in 2015. Most of these deficiencies fall under assessments and plans of care, so we will review these conditions of participation in detail and make suggestions for a survey-readiness program. Attendees will learn what items they should include in admission packets and what documents to have on hand for an unannounced survey.
